YOUR TEACHER

Aoife Billings (she/her) is a Narrm (Melbourne) based interdisciplinary artist with a dedicated practice of ceramics. She has been teaching art workshops for over seven years, including at Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Shepparton Art Museum, Monash University, numerous local councils and Pink Ember Studio. Aoife co-founded Pink Ember Studio (Coburg North) in 2018, an artist-run not-for-profit which has 19 studio artists, an events and workshop space, as well as a dedicated ceramics studio.

    This is a great course, I have attended classes in ceramics before with different providers, and have covered handbuilding, wheel throwing and glazing. But in this class I really learnt a lot more techniques and skills to make stronger pieces, to make pieces in a more time efficient way and with a broader range of finishing techniques. The studio has a creative, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and the process was liberating and satisfying. It meant a lot to me that my work was really taken good care of between classes and there was always time for everyone to receive extra help/time for questions.

    Such a good experience. Aoife was amazing and so helpful. Id give it 10 stars if I could. It was a relaxing environment and so cathartic to do something creative - which I hadn't done in MANY years.
